Created to let its guests delight in the water in silence, E is a 60- foot cruising catamaran with electric propulsion. It was developed in partnership with Sunreef and has two steerable 55 kWh engines, connected to a 134 kWh lithium battery and 4.5 kW photovoltaic panels. The resulting system can sustain cruising speeds up to 7 knots for as much as 6 hours, with a diesel backup generator extending variety out to 1,000 nautical miles. Recyclable performance sails permit for wind-powered movement at accelerate to 12 knots, and 4 en-suite cabins make sure passengers are treated as well as the environment, with chef-prepared meals and lots of water toys. It’s available for charter in the Caribbean from December-April, and from June-September in the Mediterranean.
Husband and father of two children under age 5, Marco also enjoys walks in nature, squash, running road races, and photography. He regularly contributes significant time and resources to the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the MSPCA and other animal rights organizations, and the Bitran Charitable Foundation. Marco has also volunteered and consulted for public housing support organizations such as the Somerville Homeless Coalition, created by the local community’s grassroots response to the social crisis of homelessness.
